Creatine Monohydrate Powder – NOW Foods. Creatine is a substance that occurs naturally in the body, mainly in the skeletal muscles. Creatine increases creatine phosphate stores in your muscles, enabling your body to produce ATP more quickly for short, powerful bursts of exercise. ATP (adenosine triphosphate) is the direct fuel (or energy carrier) for cells and muscles. Features. Creatine is a natural substance in your body. It is stored as creatine phosphate in your muscles. This aids short, explosive exertion (5–10 seconds). You already have it naturally. Additional creatine increases these stores by approximately 10–20 per cent. As a result, creatine helps to improve performance during explosive strength exertions¹. ¹ The beneficial effect of creatine is obtained with a daily intake of 3 g of creatine.
